Alex is here.

I finally had the baby.  I went to see my doctor because I was having vision problems and a possible uti.  My doctor talked to us and decided that we should induce me.  I was 4 centimeters dilated and the baby was at a 0 (meaning he was in my pelvis ready to come out.). We went home to grab a change of clothes and then headed to the hospital.  They got me hooked up with an IV and started the putosin about 7:30pm.  A doctor came in to break my water at 9:00 pm.  By 9:30 pm I was begging for an epidural.  I had to wait for a while before I was able to get anything and by then I couldn't stop pushing.  They gave me a shot of medicine and about 20 minutes later my doctor showed up at the hospital.  Alex was born at 10:38 pm.  He was 8 lbs 4 oz and 21 inches long.  Labor was only 3 hours and definitely a lot faster than I thought it would be.  If my doctor would have been at the hospital when I couldn't stop pushing I would have had the baby without any medicine for the pain.

Karate

So we decided to put Travis in Karate when he turned 4. He loves it. Lizzy begged to be put in too so we signed her up too. Here are some pictures. These are of Travis on his first day.

Travis' 4th birthday

Travis turned 4 today. We had a little get together on Saturday with some of his friends to enjoy cake and ice cream together. Travis wanted a Lightning McQueen cake so I made him one. It took about 4 hours to frost the cake but it turned out great. Then on his birthday I took the kids to the museum to see the dinosaur exhibit. They had so much fun. We meet Trevin's (one of Travis' friends) family there. Travis got a hot wheels race track from Mom and Dad and a remote control car from Lizzy.

20 week ultrasound

We had the 20 week ultrasound last Tuesday. The baby was so active that we only got one picture. We are having a boy. We found out today that the baby's kidneys are a little enlarged. We get to have another ultrasound at 30 weeks to check on the kidneys. Dr Beckett is hopeful that the kidneys will fix themselves by the next ultrasound. He said that there is probably a blockage so the urine can't exit the kidneys like it should.

Christmas

This year we tried to keep the presents to a minimum however there are always more presents than we expected.

The kids got pillow pets from Santa. Santa also brought the family some holiday movies and a roller coaster.

Lizzy got a Christmas dress and Travis got a Christmas suit for church.

Grandma Tina and Grandpa sent the kids a flashlight and nerf guns. The kids (especially Eric) had fun playing with the nerf guns all day.

Nana got the kids a basketball hoop. The kids opened this gift first and then had to play with it for about 30 minutes before we opened anymore presents.

We ended up going to Eric's parents house for dinner. It was nice to visit with his parents. All of his siblings were at their in-laws for Christmas this year. It was a nice change to just stay home most of the day and do nothing.

Christmas Eve Dinner

So we decided to start a new family tradition for Christmas Eve. We are going to have a formal dinner with the family. We made cordon blue, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, green beans, and salad. We even got the china out that Eric got from his grandmother this year. The whole family dressed up in Sunday clothes. I forgot that I had a Christmas table cloth so I will have to remember that next year. The kids had a lot of fun dressing up for dinner.

Finally updating the blog

I have been a little stressed lately and been sick with the pregnancy that I have slacked a little. I have updated finally so you might have to go back to August for all the updates.
